Tess and Anna Coleman had their first incredible, life-changing experience. On a mysterious Friday, the mother’s body was replaced by the daughter, and the daughter’s body by the mother. It has been 22 years now. Anna is now a successful adult. She has a naughty daughter, and she is about to marry the father of another daughter. Tess is now a loving grandmother.
As Anna’s new chapter in life begins, the challenge of two families becoming one looms large. Anna’s daughter and her future husband’s daughter are not at all compatible. Their different opinions and inconsistencies have led to constant conflict in the house. This is exactly the same as the tense situation between Tess and Anna 22 years ago.
In the midst of all these problems, fate had another strange plan in store for them. One day, at a special dinner party where the whole family was together, a fierce argument breaks out between the two teenage daughters. “If you were in my shoes, you’d understand!” one shouted. “I want to know what your problems are too!” the other replied. At that moment, like a bolt of lightning, a mysterious force struck again.
The next morning, the house was in chaos. But this time it wasn’t as simple as before. Anna’s daughter had been transferred to the body of her future stepmother’s daughter, and the daughter had been transferred to the body of Anna’s daughter. The story didn’t end there. It was “Freakie Friday,” a new twist on the old experience, and Tess and Anna had also been transferred to each other’s bodies once again!
Now four women are trapped in the wrong bodies. Tess is struggling with her daughter’s adult life and the wedding, while Anna is suddenly back in her mother’s body and has to play the role of a grandmother. Meanwhile, the two young women struggle to come to terms with each other’s challenges in school, friends, and families.
They must resolve this huge mess before Anna’s wedding. With their past experiences, Tess and Anna try to guide their daughters, teaching them the value of understanding and selflessness. In the end, they realize that only by stepping into each other’s shoes can they truly come together as a family. This messy Friday will become the strongest bond that truly binds their two families together.
