Abu’s Fight
The story revolves around an ordinary man named Abu. He lives with his loving wife Maimuna and daughter Kunji. Initially, Abu is unemployed, occasionally fishing, and spends time with his uncle Kabir. The family’s financial situation is not very good, and Maimuna often says that Abu’s contribution is limited even in household chores.
However, Abu’s life changes when he starts working as a bouncer. He especially likes events attended by movie stars. At one event, Abu goes to protect a movie actress from a fan and attacks the fan. This causes the displeasure of his boss, Vitus, who is involved in the work.
The decisive event in Abu’s life is an event attended by world boxing champion Zainul Akhmadov. There, Akhmadov takes Abu on stage and tries to beat him to show how scared his opponents are. But unexpectedly, Abu hits back and Akhmadov falls on the stage. The incident becomes a major news story in the international media, and Abu is even called the “Indian Tyson”.
Although Abu is arrested by the police for this incident, Akhmadov is released because he does not file a complaint. However, an enraged Akhmadov comes to Abu’s house and challenges him to a fight in the ring. Although Abu initially rejects the challenge, after learning that his daughter Kunji sees him as a “good guy”, he decides to fight for her.
Abu then undergoes intensive training under a trainer named Raghavan. Despite obstacles such as lack of money, he prepares for the fight. Finally, a heated fight takes place between Abu and Akhmadov. Although Abu puts up a strong challenge to Akhmadov for twelve rounds, Akhmadov ultimately wins by a split decision by the judges. However, Akhmadov, who admires Abu’s fighting spirit, says that Abu is the real winner, and Kunji also recognizes his father as a hero. Despite his defeat, Abu wins the hearts of many.
