The story begins with the breakup of a romantic relationship and the pain it brings. Statements such as “I’m leaving you,” and “I thought you were a good person, but that’s not true” show the loss of hope. The main character accuses the person he loves of hurting him.
Later, the story shows a relationship between Salvador and a woman known as ‘Buttercup’. Salvador seems to be frustrated with his wife’s behavior. They have been in a relationship for 17 years, and their son is sick. Salvador separates from his wife and tries to start a new life with another woman.
According to the story, life is a journey full of different experiences, including joy, pain, and disappointments. “Life is short, you have to live it,” says one of the characters in the story.
The story also depicts the complex relationship that develops between Salvador and María Jesús. María Jesús, frustrated by her husband Arturo’s behavior, begins an affair with Salvador. Later, Arturo is murdered, and the police investigate the case.
