The night was cold and lonely. The rain falling outside and the gentle wails of the wind that crept into the house only intensified Clara’s grief. After the death of her beloved, she was alone in this large house. Only memories remained in every corner.
Suddenly, the silence of the night was broken by the sound of someone knocking on the main door. Who could it be at this late hour? Curious and afraid, she opened the door. There was a stranger there, his face obscured in the darkness, dressed in a raincoat. Without saying a word, he held out a small, beautifully wrapped box to her. “Grief is something you have. Something you feel. And something you can give,” he said in a mysterious voice, and without looking back, he disappeared into the darkness of the night.
Clara closed the door and looked at the mysterious gift in her hand. Her heart urged her to open it. Inside was an old, small wooden box that played music. As soon as she opened it, a delicate, mournful melody spread throughout the room.
From that moment on, everything began to change. It was as if she had escaped reality and fallen into a world of nightmares, a rabbit hole. She felt the corridors of the house stretch endlessly, the walls slowly moving towards her. She heard voices whispering her name from empty rooms.
