The film begins with a journey into the past and dark memories of a broken heart. The character, Thido, is a broken man. He is now serving his sentence as a solitary criminal on a difficult planet. His only companion is his self-generated thoughts about his wife, Mona. He constantly converses with Mona, and it only takes a short while for us to realize that she is just a figment of his imagination.

On the first night, Thido is startled by the arrival of a strange stranger. He notices that a young human named Niyya, an Oyan, has also arrived on the same planet. She is initially afraid of Thido, but over time, a strange friendship develops between them. Thido invites her for a drink of whiskey, and after a long time, they attempt to engage in human conversation.

As the two share their past stories, much is revealed to us. Niya says that she was found as a child by an Oyan mother, and that Oyan became her first language. She says that her mother and siblings died in the war. When Thido tells his story, he mentions that he was accused of killing his wife’s lover, but he also claims that this is not true.
Later, Niya invites Thido to her house. There she begins to question him harshly. She addresses him as ‘Nathan Flanagan’. She asks Thido if he was in the war, and his true identity. Thido, upset by these questions, runs out of her house screaming.

Then, Thido tries to remember who he is. He remembers that he killed his wife, ‘Mona’. But Niya follows him and tries to attack him. She accuses him of being Colonel Nathan Flanagan, the man who killed her Oyan family. During the fight between the two, Tido’s true past begins to dawn on him, as he remembers what he did. He admits that he killed ‘Mona’, but does not admit that he killed Niya’s family.

Eventually, the two come to a compromise. The tension between them has subsided somewhat. Tido offers to help Niya. He gives her his bio-monitor, helping her to show that she is alive. The conflict between the two ends with a certain understanding between two people who live together reluctantly on an isolated planet.
The alien gas on the planet seems to be rapidly reshaping their thoughts, which further increases their mental anguish. The film ends with a profound message about revenge, memory, forgiveness, and patience.

At this crucial moment, Tido tells Niya that although she is ready to do something, she will not do it. Because he had the opportunity to do something, but he didn’t. Niya says that as an Oyan species, feelings of revenge are a human thing, and that the Oyan race doesn’t have it. She goes on to say that she came to this planet to escape those human feelings, but they still exist within her.

The main message here is that revenge and hatred cannot be imprisoned within oneself and cannot be escaped. Although the planet is quiet, the turmoil in their hearts is too much for both Thedo and Niya to bear. This is an extremely complex science fiction film that explores the deepest humanity.

Throughout the film, the struggle between the Oyan race and humanity, immigrants, alienation, refugees, and apartheid, etc. are explored. Through all of this, a powerful metaphor is built for the conflicts between humans that also occur in our world. The complex characters, their pasts, and the choices they make allow us to reflect on many things.

This film can be called a very good science fiction that will make viewers think long-term, deeply reflect on human nature. It teaches valuable lessons about forgiveness, accepting sin, and rebuilding a broken soul.

By taking a closer look at life on other planets, this film shows us the reality of what is really inside us. That reality is that no matter where we are, it is difficult to escape the conflicts within us. It is a story that, as a fiction that provides a deep view of human nature, makes us rethink the world around us.

Finally, it makes us think about the refugee displacements that are happening around the world, the racial conflicts, the cycles of revenge, and the darkness within us as humans. Also, this can be seen as an exploration of the deepest psychological stress, confusion, and human problems and experiences in general.
