The Story of Snow White
In a certain land, there lived a peaceful kingdom ruled by a virtuous queen and a king. They had a great desire to have a child. One winter night, a fierce snowstorm swept through their land, and after that storm, they received a precious gift. It was a beautiful princess. Her parents named her Snow White to commemorate the night she was born.
As Snow White grew up, the king and queen taught her that the prosperity of the land belonged to all who cared for it. They showed her how to rule with love. Because one day it was her destiny to lead.
But a tragedy happened. Snow White’s mother fell ill, and the good queen died. Snow White and the king were deeply saddened. A beautiful woman from a distant land came to the palace and married the king. But she was not as good as she seemed. She was evil, and cared only about her image and the power it gave her. To protect that power, she had a magic mirror, which could only answer one simple question: “Magic mirror, who is the most beautiful in the world?”
The new queen did not take long to seize power. The good king did not return from his journey to protect his people. Fear gripped the kingdom, and the queen’s power grew. She turned the peasants into loyal soldiers and plundered the kingdom’s wealth for herself. She turned Snow White into a maid and locked her behind the castle walls. But as long as the mirror answered that the queen was the most beautiful every day, Snow White was safe from the queen’s cruel jealousy.
As time passed, people almost forgot that there had ever been a princess named Snow White. In fact, Snow White had almost forgotten about herself.
One day, the magic mirror said that Snow White was more beautiful than the queen. The queen was angry and ordered a hunter to take Snow White into the forest and kill her. But the hunter could not kill Snow White, and told her to run away.
While Snow White was lost in the forest, she came across a small house. There lived seven dwarfs: Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey. They gave Snow White shelter in their house.
But the queen found out that Snow White was alive, and she devised a plan to destroy her. She disguised herself as an old woman and gave Snow White a poisoned apple to eat. As soon as Snow White ate the apple, Snow White fell into a deep sleep.
The elves were so sad that they buried Snow White in a glass coffin. One day, a prince was passing by and saw Snow White and was captivated by her beauty. He kissed her, and with that kiss, Snow White woke up. (The kiss of true love was the only way to cure the poison.)
Snow White and the prince married, and they lived happily ever after. The wicked queen was punished for her actions. In the end, Snow White brought peace and happiness to her father’s kingdom.
