The Curse of Shanmukha
In a remote forest village, an unusual child with six faces, Shanmukha, was born. His father, with the help of magic, dreamed of making his son a king, and his brother Bhadra supported him. But the villagers feared Shanmukha and considered him a demon. After the death of Shanmukha’s mother, Bhadra traveled to Varanasi in search of a solution to his deformity. There, he learned about a dark ritual called “Vighanda”, which required the blood of young women of certain zodiac signs.
Meanwhile, in the city, a brave police officer, Karthi, was chasing a drug racket when his service firearm mysteriously disappeared. Meanwhile, a journalism student named Sara was investigating a pattern of young women mysteriously disappearing and their boyfriends committing suicide shortly after.
Sarah and Karthi’s paths cross, and initially clash due to their past relationship. But it is gradually revealed that there is a connection between Sara’s investigation and Karthi’s drug case. It is revealed that the missing girls were abducted for the Vighanda ritual, and that the suicides of their lovers were murders to cover up the crime.
The climax of the story is the revelation that the rare girl “Klinkara” needed to complete the ritual is Sarama. Karthi, under Bhadra’s influence, surrenders Sara for the ritual, but in the end he fights to save her. After a fierce battle, the ritual is thwarted.
Realizing the devastation caused by his mutation, Shanmukha rejects his father and uncle’s blind love and belief in the power of magic. He took his own life, considering his birth a curse that had claimed so many innocent lives. His last words were a plea to parents not to harm others out of love for their children.
