The story of the film Rasta
This story begins with a sad incident. Twenty years ago, her mother went to work in Oman and disappeared, when Shahana, a young woman, came to Oman to find her mother.
When Shahana’s father met with an accident, her mother came to Oman to work in a house. There, she received a reasonable salary. Shahana was about two years old at that time. Two years later, Shahana’s father recovered, and her mother returned. But later, she returned to Oman and disappeared from there.
Shahana’s journey to find her mother was supported by her friends Faisal, Mujeeb and Khalid. They all got lost in the Rab al-Khali desert. The Royal Oman Police and the Air Force launched a major operation to find them, who had been stranded in the desert for two days without water or food.
When they were finally found, Shahana was dead. Her last message was to her friend Divya. “Divya, I don’t know if I will be alive when you receive this message. I feel like my journey to find my Ummah will end here…” it said.
A journalist reported: “Every parent loves to be with their children at all times. But in this case, fate intervened. We believe that the love between this daughter and her mother, despite being physically separated, will last forever.”
The incident shook the hearts of many in Oman. It brought to mind many similar incidents that have occurred in the Rab al Khali desert. In the past, two people from Tamil Nadu, two Qatari citizens and a Saudi Arabian citizen have died in this desert.
Shahana’s final journey in search of her mother ended tragically with her sacrificing her life. But wherever her mother is, she is sure to cry for her daughter.
