Set in Pudukottai district, the story revolves around the life of a young man named Sathyamoorthy. After a pregnant woman is injured in a car accident, Sathyamoorthy is sentenced to two years in prison. But the real story behind the incident is more complicated.
The old enmity between Duraisingam and Muthupandi is the backdrop to this incident. This conflict, which had been going on for many years, was exacerbated by the relationship between Muthupandi’s daughter Selvi and Duraisingam’s brother Arjunapandi. After this incident, Arjunapandi committed suicide.
After Sathyamoorthy is released from prison, he comes to know the true events of his life. He realizes that Sathyamoorthy has been framed as the culprit due to a conspiracy by the hospital doctor and Manimaran. After discovering this truth, Sathyamoorthy tries to prove his innocence.
When a pregnant woman named Kalyani is injured, the hospital records state that both the mother and the child are healthy. But later, the child dies due to some other reason. This truth is hidden and Sathyamoorthy is tried to be shown as the culprit.
At the end of the story, Sathyamoorthy goes to Muthupandi’s house and confronts him face to face. Here, the real criminals are revealed. These incidents show the harm that innocent people suffer due to family hatred and a mentality of revenge.
As shown in the story, the main themes here are how the powerful in society abuse their power over the weak and the injustices that happen to ordinary people. The story also emphasizes the importance of seeking the truth and the need to stand up for justice.
