Grid layout vs Flexbox with frameworks like TailwindCSS. Why use grid layout

As the title says. If i’m using a framework like tailwindCSS why would I choose to use a grid layout? I definitely understand the use case for grid as a two-dimensional layout with more control, but why would I ever really choose to use a grid layout when I can pretty much achieve the same result with what I feel like is more responsiveness?

I see one instance in a project I’m developing where I can get an input to line up evenly with the rest, but thats because the input field was chosen to be larger on a profile page which is probably going to be changed anyway since I doubt the input will exceed what is needed. Or it could just explicitly be set for each breakpoint.

I’ve read some consider it lazy to just use flex box and flex column, even as far as saying it makes you look bad. Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate the grid system.
