Deva: Shadows of a Forgotten Past
Deva is a Deputy Commissioner of Police in South Mumbai, but a bit of a different person. Because of his way of working and his harsh nature, some people called him “police mafia”. His two best friends are Farhan and Rohan. But Farhan is the husband of Deva’s sister-in-law Alka, so they had a brother-in-law-friendship.
One day, Deva solves a big case and calls Farhan to say, “I’ve solved it, I know who the murderer is.” But after that call, Deva meets with a terrible accident and completely loses his memory. He doesn’t remember who he is or who Farhan is.
Meanwhile, Prabhat Jadhav, a notorious criminal in Mumbai, is shot dead by the police. That honor goes to Rohan. Rohan also receives an award for it. But while Rohan is giving a speech at the awards ceremony, he is killed by a sniper shot.
Now Deva is tasked with finding Rohan’s killer. But he doesn’t remember anything. Farhan is the one who helps Deva. Farhan tells Deva that there is a “mole” (traitor) in the police, who is the one who gave information to Prabhat Jadhav. That mole’s name is “Bull”.
Deva starts investigating. He faces many obstacles. Ministers, politicians, and even Rohan’s family members accuse Deva. Due to Deva’s harsh nature, a case has also been filed in the court. In the meantime, Deva meets a journalist named Diya Sataye, who is also looking for this mole.
Gradually, Deva starts remembering some things. He learns from Rohan’s girlfriend Rebecca that Rohan was actually going to say that Deva killed Prabhat Jadhav at the awards ceremony. This means that someone in the police department doesn’t want Rohan to reveal the truth.
Finally, Deva finds a crucial piece of evidence. That is, the voicemail recording of the call he made to Farhan before the accident. In it, Deva clearly says who killed Rohan. Deva realizes that the mastermind called “Bull”, Rohan’s killer, is none other than his best friend, his brother-in-law, Farhan himself.
Farhan is the one who gave all the information to Prabhat Jadhav. Farhan is the one who killed Rohan, fearing that Rohan will reveal the truth. Deva arrests Farhan. Even though he learns that the traitor from his forgotten past is his closest confidant, Deva fulfills his duty perfectly.
