The Story of Lily and Bob
Lily is a young woman. She has to break up with her boyfriend. With this breakup, she goes to counseling because of her past and her troubled relationship with her father. Lily’s father, Bob, is dating several women in a retirement home. He is interested in a woman named Helen and asks Lily for help in wooing her.
However, the meeting turns into a mess due to misunderstandings, and a big fight breaks out between Lily and her father, who rejects her. Although Lily tries to reconcile with her father, he rejects her and even bans her from entering the retirement home.
Meanwhile, Lily meets another Bob Trevino online. He is the husband of a woman named Jeannie. One day, when a water pipe bursts in Lily’s bathroom, this second Bob helps her. From there, they develop a good friendship. At first, Jeannie is suspicious of Lily, but she soon becomes close to Lily.
Bob, the second, tells Lily that they had a child named David, and their marriage has been in trouble since his death. He takes Lily on a camping trip to see a meteor shower. There, Lily tells him about how her father forcibly took her pet dog, Charlie. Bob comforts her. Later, he takes Lily to an animal village.
After a while, Lily’s father calls her and says he wants to make peace, but it turns out that his real interest is money. He even shows her a list of expenses he spent on raising Lily. Lily, angry at this, blames her father for her emotional abuse and says she will end the relationship until he changes.
Meanwhile, the second Bob is fired from his job because his boss doesn’t care about his job security. After a few days, when he doesn’t hear from Bob, Lily becomes worried and goes looking for him. However, she learns that he has died. Bob’s wife, Jeanie, gives Lily a special book. The book contains Bob and Lily’s memoirs, photos, and a poem written by Lily. This story tells how strong and meaningful family ties can be, even more than blood ties.
