Scott Derrickson’s direction, Joe Hill’s story, and Ethan Hawke’s unforgettable performance as “The Grabber” made the film a classic horror film. But after the film’s main villain died tragically, many wondered how a “sequel” would come about.
“Black Phone 2,” released in 2025, boldly took on that challenge and expanded on the first film’s mythology, presenting itself as a highly successful psychological & supernatural horror.
This time, the story centers on the lives of Finn (Mason Thames) and his sister Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), survivors of the events of the first film.
