The story begins with Chris and Emma, along with friends Randy and Barrs, taking a trip to Chris’s uncle’s house. It is a house in a deserted, isolated area. While they are having fun there, they begin to experience mysterious events. A strange green light and a vague noise catch their attention. Chris ignores it, saying that it could just be a hiker or the work of local villagers.
But then, Chris disappears, and they call the police. The police arrive, but they are unable to find any clues, and they do not take Emma’s claim that aliens are behind Chris’s disappearance seriously. The police state that two men have disappeared from the area in the past year, both in their early thirties.
Later, an unknown man claiming to be Chris arrives at the house naked, and he knows all of Chris’s personal information. The man claims to have been abducted by aliens and transferred his consciousness into Chris’s body. He claims to have woken up paralyzed and that the body he was in was not his own. Emma initially doesn’t believe him, but is shocked when he reveals all of Chris’s personal information.
Meanwhile, Randy reveals that he and Barrs were involved in a drug deal with Randy’s cousin. He says that the people who came to their deal mistakenly put drugs from an ibuprofen bottle into Chris’ bottle. Barrs accidentally took the drugs, which caused him to hallucinate and act strangely.
As the story progresses, the chief of police reveals that he is the one behind the disappearances. He claims to have abducted people, taken their identities, and lived in their place. He experiments on human behavior, showing how quickly people are inclined to believe in aliens. Eventually, the police officer kidnaps Emma, and Chris and Randy escape from him.
At the end of the film, Chris and Emma are safe, and Emma reveals that she is expecting a marriage proposal from Chris. She also says that she is pregnant with Chris’s child. The film ends with a hint of Emma and Chris’ marriage.
