When the gates of Nevermore Academy reopened, Wednesday Addams returned with a different purpose in mind than the last time she came. After defeating Hyde and Crackstone last semester, she thought there would be a temporary peace. But before she left town, mysterious messages and photos received on her new phone were clear evidence that she had another enemy. Her new goal was to find out who this “stalker” was following her like a shadow.
In her dorm, Enid warmly welcomed her with her colorful world. Now that she was learning to control her werewolf abilities, her confidence had also increased. Enid’s newfound bravery was a challenge to Wednesday’s dark, mysterious investigative methods. Meanwhile, Xavier Thorpe is still struggling with his feelings for Wednesday. But gaining her trust, especially when someone is secretly watching her, is no easy task.
As the new semester begins at Nevermore, new mysteries emerge. Old, forgotten symbols have been painted all over the school, and Wednesday discovers that they belong to a secret society even older than “The Nightshade Society,” tied to Nevermore’s past. Her visions return, but this time they are more confusing and misleading. She suspects that the visions she sees are being deliberately controlled by the person following her.
Her investigations lead her to a forbidden section of the library at Nevermore and a network of secret tunnels beneath the school. There, she learns that the shadow following her is someone who has a generational vendetta against the Addams family. This revenge is based on an incident that occurred years ago when Morticia and Gomez Addams were students at Nevermore.
At the climax of the story, Wednesday is confronted by her “stalker.” It is someone she never expected – a new history teacher at Nevermore. He is a descendant of an old family that is said to have been wronged by the Addams. He has created a new creature like Hyde and plans to destroy not only Wednesday, but all of Nevermore.
After a fierce battle, Wednesday defeats the threat with the help of Enid’s wolf strength and Xavier’s artistic abilities. However, although she defeats her enemy, he reveals before dying that he is only a small part of a larger conspiracy against the Addams family.
Season two ended with Wednesday grappling with the dark secrets of her family’s past and preparing to face another larger and more organized enemy. Her fight wasn’t over yet; it was just beginning.
