In a certain village, there lived a group of fun-loving youths. They always spent their time talking about various things and joking. One day, while they were talking about easy ways to earn money, some even came up with some dirty ideas like recording videos in bathrooms and selling them. However, their attention was diverted to something else. It was the organization of the village’s Ganesh Chaturthi festival. A vehicle was needed for the procession, and they decided to make a ‘tuk-tuk’ by modifying an old, rusty scooter belonging to one of their grandfathers.
The festival was a success. But then strange things started happening. The tuk-tuk they had made started moving and turning on its own without anyone’s control. Although initially scared, the cunning youths took this as an opportunity to make money. They spread the word among the villagers that the tuk-tuk was possessed by a god, and they collected money by showing it as a ‘magic’ vehicle that answered questions asked by those who asked it.
However, after a while, they realized the truth. The tuk-tuk was not possessed by a god, but by the spirit of a dead girl. It was a girl named Shilpa who lived in the same village. Shilpa was a young woman who looked at life freely and did not respect social norms much. She fell in love with the young man named Naveen, who invented the scooter. But her parents arranged for her to be married to someone else, and she disappeared amidst the slander of the villagers and the neglect of her family. Before disappearing, she had written something on a wall in the village, but it had been washed away by the rain.
The young people realized that Shilpa’s soul had not found peace because she had not been able to complete what she wanted to say. With the help of Shilpa’s friends and her spirit, they found the word she had written on the wall. It was “Thank you.” She had tried to be grateful for all the experiences she had had in her life – good or bad. The young people wrote the word again on the wall, letting the villagers know Shilpa’s final message. Then Shilpa’s soul was freed forever.
