Mark and Sarah are a young couple living in New York City, dreaming of a dream. Their biggest problem was the unaffordable rent. An apartment in Manhattan was just a dream for them. But one day, through an ad on the Internet, they came across an incredible offer: a large apartment in the middle of the city, with all the amenities, for less than half the rent they were paying!
“There must be something wrong with this,” Sarah said. “If the rent is this low, there must be a ghost. But it’s okay, I’ll share a room with a ghost,” Mark said with a smile.
When they went to see the apartment, it was even better than they had imagined. Although old, it had beautiful architecture. The owner hurriedly signed the contract, handed over the keys and disappeared.
The first night was quiet. But from the second night, strange things started happening. Kitchen knives fell to the floor without anyone touching them. The lights flickered on and off. There were groans coming from the walls.
“Look, Mark, I told you there was a ghost here,” Sarah said fearfully. “It’s okay, Sarah, as long as he doesn’t pay rent, we don’t have to worry about him,” Mark joked.
But the joke didn’t last long. The ghosts weren’t just scary ghosts. They were murderous, evil spirits. One night, a ghost dressed in old Victorian clothing and carrying a knife walked around their bed. “GET OUT!” was written in blood on the bathroom mirror.
They wanted to escape, but they had spent all their savings on this apartment, and it was hard to find another place in New York City.
“We need help,” Sarah decided.
But who could they ask for help? The police wouldn’t believe them. They remembered their group of “unusual friends.”
The first was ‘Spooky’ Sal. He was a young man who ran a YouTube channel and was passionate about ghosts, but had never seen a real ghost. The second was Madame Zelda. She was a tarot card reader and fortune teller, but her predictions were often wrong. The third was Rico. He was an expert in rat catching and pest control. “A ghost is a kind of pest,” he said.
This strange group arrived at the apartment. Sal started recording everything with his camera, while Madame Zelda sat in the middle of the room and tried to meditate. Rico set up his “ghost traps” (which were actually rat traps).
The situation was even more terrifying than expected. The murderous ghosts began to attack them. The goods flew away. Sal ran screaming in fear, and Madam Zelda started a small fire in the kitchen by chanting the wrong spell.
In the end, they had to use a bottle of holy water that had belonged to an old priest, which they had accidentally found in Rico’s pest control bag. After a funny and terrifying fight, they managed to drive away the ghosts.
The next morning, the apartment looked like a battlefield. “Okay, at least now we have a good reason to lower the rent,” Mark said, dusting himself off. In New York City, they were prepared to endure any evil for a cheap rent.
