I started learning kivy to build python ui apps but don't know how to implement the 'technical' part or how to make the buttons and lists functional.

I want to build a Music sheet to Midi App converter for a school project by using this algorithm I found https://github.com/cal-pratt/SheetVision.

How it works is you would have an icon at the top of the app to open up your phone's camera, than you would take a picture of the music sheet, the program will than convert it into a midi file and add it to a list of your music.

Can someone help?

I have started experimenting with kivy, it's going ok, I have just managed to make a list interface and some buttons. No idea how to make the buttons open up the camera and how to make a real list.
