A Chinese student named Wei was awarded a scholarship to a university in New Zealand. She was ostracized by society because of her facial deformity. Her father was a scientist who died while conducting skin regeneration research.
Wei came to New Zealand with her father’s research notes. There, she stayed at her stepmother Angela’s house. Living under the same roof with Angela’s daughter Angie was a challenge for her.
At university, Wei met Dr. Featherstone. He took an interest in her father’s research and invited her to work as a lab assistant. Wei tried to find her father’s skin regeneration formula.
But the doctor stole her notebook and tried to publish it as his own discovery. This caused Wei’s mental state to deteriorate further.
